1. First Weekends at urban mining (Feb 3-6)

Open the first Friday weekend each month, Urban Mining is a vintage market. The market features authentic vintage furniture, art, decor, lighting, antiques, traditional and mid-century, industrial era and maker-crafted treasures.

On Sunday all remaining inventory is 10% off all day long.

2. First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District (Feb 4)

No First Friday is the same thanks to an eclectic mix of art galleries, boutiques, food trucks, and more. First Fridays in Crossroads is one of the best free things to do in Kansas City every month for art lovers! This late-night event offers something for everyone in one of Downtown’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

3. First Weekends in the West Bottoms (Feb 4-6)

The February theme for First Weekend in West Bottoms is “Bubbles in the Bottoms”. Once home to Kansas City’s stockyards, West Bottoms now offers a wide assortment of antique and vintage stores that are open the first weekend of every month.

In addition to the shopping, the district offers street entertainers, escape games, food trucks, coffee shops,and tastings at a winery and a distillery to round out this uniquely Kansas City experience.

4. Remix: Love Over War – Changing the Narrative – ARTIST TALK (Feb 5)

Meet artist Ada Koch and Rosily Temple from KC Mothers in Charge for an evening of art, poetry, and music. The two hope to inspire change with this exhibition promoting love, instead of war.

3-5 PM on February 5th.

5. Valentine Cabaret (Feb 11-14)

Valentine Cabaret

Break up the cold winter nights with a lively cabaret show from Musical Director Kevin Bogan. The Metropolitan Ensemble Theater brings you laughter, music, and dance with free intermission sweets and treats. Sounds like a perfect night out with your Valentine.

6. Cheer on the Super Bowl at Granfalloon (Feb 13)

Super Bowl LVI is the final game of the 2021 season and the culmination of the 2021–22 NFL playoffs. The game is scheduled to be played on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Sadly, we can’t root on the Chiefs, but it is still a fun football experience. One of the best places to watch the game is always at The Granfalloon restaurant and sports bar on the Country Club Plaza. They boast that there’s no bad seat in the house and that every chair views a TV.

7. Impress Your Valentine With KC Ballet’s “Dracula” – (Feb 18-27)

It’s no secret that the Kauffman Center inspires a very romantic scene, but seeing “Dracula” at this dazzling venue will guarantee and thrilling date. KC Ballet and KC Symphony team up to bring an unbeatable combination of dance and music.

8. Let’s Wine About Winter (Feb 19)

Prove yourself tougher than the weather and cruise the square at Historic Downtown Liberty while sampling more than 20 wines at the Let’s Wine About Winter event. Local businesses coordinate special sales and related events. A keep sake wine glass is included with ticket purchase.

9. Join the Biggest Mardi Gras Party in Town at Power & Light (Feb 26)

Mardi Gras at KC Live!

It’s an instant party at the 13th annual Mardi Gras celebration at KC Live!. Entertainment includes street performers, crawfish eating contests, live music among others. The festivities continue at The Dubliner, Johnny’s Tavern, PBR Big Sky, Shark Bar and more.

10. Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing at Snow Creek – Ongoing all month (weather permitting)

You don’t have to drive to the Rockies to hit the slopes! Kansas City’s own ski mountain is located less than 30 minutes north of town near Weston, MO.

Snow Creek is a hidden gem for athletic-minded people looking for a great way to take advantage of the winter weather. Cold temperatures but no snow in the forecast? No worries – Snow Creek makes its own fresh powder!

Snow Creek has12 trails: 30% beginner, 60% intermediate, 10% expert (including terrain park). It has 5 Lifts including 2 Triple Chairlifts, 1 Double Chairlift, 1 Conveyor Carpet, and 1 Rope Tow. It has 2 Terrain Parks: Rattle Snake (expert) and Gunslinger Progression Park (beginner/intermediate).

Adult one-day lift tickets start at $53. Season passes are available.

11. Outdoor Ice Skating – Ongoing all month

There are a lot of places to go ice skating around Kansas City, but the outdoor rinks at Zona Rosa and Crown Center provide the best experiences.

Bring the kids to burn off some energy during the day or just your partner for a nostalgic winter evening together before grabbing dinner at one of the many restaurants that are located close to either rink.

February brings four different concerts to the T-Mobile Center featuring talents such as Elton John (February 1) and Eric Chruch (February 18). Make a full night of it and hang out at the Power N Light District next door. Prices vary and you can find the full events calendar here.

13. Watch the Puck Fly at a Maverick Hockey Game – (check schedule)

February may be the shortest month of the year, but the Mavericks will see the most action with 12 games scheduled in just 4 weeks. Catch a game at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence and cheer on Kansas City’s professional hockey team.
