Easy and Delicious Blueberry Lemonade Recipe

After making this easy and delicious blueberry lemonade, you’ll never want store bought lemonade again.

How Long does it Take to Make Blueberry Lemonade?

Not long at all! This is a great last-minute drink recipe to bring on a picnic or serve at a party! Some blueberry lemonade recipes calls for making a simple syrup. This recipe is much simpler (ha ha). It takes about 10 minutes to juice lemons and prepare the lemonade.

If you are looking to turn your homemade blueberry lemonade into a hard lemonade, you can simply add 2 ounces of your favorite clear spirit or sparkling wine (see below)!

Quick & Easy Blueberry Lemonade Recipe

Blueberries and lemon

Use fresh or frozen thawed blueberries in this easy blueberry lemonade that is perfect for a warm sunny day. I used 2/3 cup of sweetener in this recipe, but you can play with the sugar amount.

As you blend, start with 1/2 cup of sugar and work up if it isn't sweet enough. Add a sprig of fresh mint or simply garnish each glass with a few lemon slices!

Prep Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups blueberries
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (or to taste)
  • 2/3 cup sugar or honey, or to taste
  • 4 slices lemon, for garnish
  • Mint, rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash blueberries if using fresh berries.
  2. Put the water, blueberries, lemon juice, and sugar in a blender or VitaMix. You can also use an Immersion blender (my favorite).
  3. Blend the ingredients until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture through a china cup strainer into a pitcher (or run through a cheesecloth). This will leave you with lemonade consistency.
  5. Serve over ice.
  6. Garnished with lemon slices, a few fresh blueberries and a sprig of your favorite herb.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can make a variation of this lemonade using any berry!
  • For an adult variation, add a bit of vodka, tequila or rum to the mixture to for a spiked lemonade.
  • If you want some fizz, but not the alcohol, adding club soda is another great variation.
