The Rockhill Grille

Prime Rib Biscuit Sandwich

The Rockhill Grille is a Classic American Grille in the heart of the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District.

Start your experience with one of their breakfast cocktails items like the refreshing vodka, cucumber and mint cocktail or a classic mimosa’s that are the biggest hit here.

Their tater tots are to die for. If you look up any review of Rockhill Grille, you will see raves about these house-made, pepperjack, garlic aioli, catsup Cheese filled crispy perfection! I got the veggie omelet as a scramble and it was fantastic!

Their Prime Rib Biscuit Sandwich with shaved prime rib, cholula aioli, brunch potatoes, and a sunny up egg is a favorite item and one you don’t see on other brunch menu’s in town.

They have plenty of seating options, with an upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating when it’s warm.

Brunch is from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and 10 am to 3:00 pm on Sundays.

Gram & Dun is a stylish restaurant in the Plaza neighborhood with a great patio and decent view of the bustling Plaza streets and greenery along Brush Creek. It is a great place to people watch while enjoying a high-end foodie experience.

Brunch favorites include the Burnt End Mac & Cheese made with bbq sauce, house smoked pork burnt ends, roasted garlic & gruyere cream, smoked white cheddar, house pickles, and topped with herbed breadcrumbs, and scallions.

Other favorites are the Banana Cream French Toast, Crab Cake Benedict and Pastrami & Egg Skillet

The Majestic Restaurant is the best place for live music and Sunday brunch. The Majestic is located in 100+ year old Historic Fitzpatrick’s Saloon Building.

Sunday Brunch pairs classic jazz piano with really good food like their unique dishes such as Biscuits & Bison Sausage Gravy or Banana Pecan Pancakes. Other classic breakfast options are Steak and Eggs, traditional Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Sandwiches, Omelets, a variety of vegetarian options.

Clay & Fire

The Clay and Fire menu features dishes prepared with produce sourced from farms in Northern Missouri and premium spices from the heart of the Near Eastern Region.

Brunch at Clay and Fire has a distinctive Mediterranean feel with dishes like Yumurta Cilbir, a poached egg served in yogurt, garlic, paprika butter.

Other favorite dishes include Menemen, a Turkish egg scramble with green pepper, onion, tomato and Kharcho, smoked beef short rib, blue corn polenta with a bright coriander tomato sauce and served with seasonal pickles.

Wesport Cafe serves modern French food and is located in the Westport neighborhood. They serve Sunday brunch from 10 am – 3:30 pm.

There is no other way to start Sunday brunch at Ca Va than with a flaky croissant au Chocolat and a glass of champagne at this a rustic-chic cocktail lounge with an outdoor patio.

Of course, they also take the Mimosa game up a notch offering the morning cocktail with not only orange juice, but offer grapefruit, cranberry or pineapple as well.

This is one of the best brunches for anyone who love French food. Their classic French brunch entrees include crepes, a gluten free quiche, croque Madade, Croque Monsieur and a Croque Forestier.

The Pressed Penny Tavern is a hidden gem in the middle of KC serving up an all day brunch every Saturday and Sunday at this cozy cafe with a relaxed vibe.

First things first, the The Pressed Penny makes a faboulous Bloody Mary! They also have a few distinguising dishes like Shakshuka two basted eggs*, roasted red peppers, onions, crushed tomatoes served with pita.

Other standouts are the Chorizo Frittata, Corned Beef Hash as well as a breakfast flatbread made with sausage or mushroom gravy, scrambled egg, roasted tomatoes, cheddar, & served with dressed greens.

The Classic Cup Cafe is located in Country Club Plaza and known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious breakfast fare, including eggs Benedict and house-made pastries.

A favorite is the Smoked Brisket Hash made with house smoked beef brisket, vegetables, minced potato that is seared crispy and topped with two poached eggs and zesty bloody Mary sauce. Another specialty is their Low Country Shrimp & Grits that is served with spicy shrimp, Andouille sausage, bell pepper, onion, and spinach, garlicky tomato broth with grits.

They serve breakfast daily and have a Sunday brunch from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Beer Kitchen is Kansas City’s original gastropub and located in historic Westport. They serve weekend brunch Saturday and Sunday from 9A-2P.

Popular brunch appetizers here are their famous Drunken Doughnuts. These small homemade donuts are served with boozy chocolate sauce and of course, pairs perfectly with a Wake & Bacon Bloody Mary.

Pierponts in Union Station

Pierponts is a posh restaurant in the center of Union Station. It’s a great option for brunch if you plan to visit the World War I Museum or explore downtown (you can catch the KC Streetcar here to River Market). Union Station itself has a lot of history and displays to check out and can easily turn into a couple hours of exploration. But, back to the food!

Pierponts has a fancy brunch menu with starters that include Canadian lobster tail or snow crab legs. They also have a signature white chocolate challah French toast as well as a variety of eggs Benedict as well several breakfast classics. 

They offer a fun list of breakfast cocktails as well as three Bloody Mary options and of course Mimosas! And don’t forget dessert! Options include white chocolate bread pudding, spicy cinnamon Crème Brule and a flourless chocolate rum cake.

Blvd Tavern

Blvd Tavern is a gastropub serving brunch Saturday & Sunday from 10am-2pm. They are a favorite brunch spot for locals and located in a retro brick-walled space with a patio & vintage feel.

They prepare everything on the menu from scratch and with the freshest ingredients and offer bottomless Mimosas as well as a Bottomless Brunch Flight (mix and match between Bloody Mary’s, Rum Punch, & Mimosas.

Standouts on the menu include their house-made cinnamon rolls with vanilla-orange glaze, chilaquiles (corn tortilla, tomatillo and poblano chili verde, sour cream, cotija cheese topped with eggs), and the chicken-n-biscuit corn flake fried chicken (house-made buttermilk biscuit, bourbon syrup, thyme butter).

Above is their famous blueberry cream cheese stuffed brioche served with maple syrup, orange whipped cream, and apple wood smoked bacon.

Brunch is Saturday & Sunday from 10a-2p.

La Bodega

La Bodega focuses on Spanish food as well as the lifestyle and traditions of Northern Spain. Favorites include their Spanish twist on a Benedict; Huevos Benedicto; poached eggs, Farm to Market English muffin, fresh spinach, Spanish chorizo hollandaise

Another favorite is their version of Biscuits and Gravy made with housemade biscuits, grilled Bilboa chorizo, spicy chorizo gravy.

They have a fun list of cocktails as well as Sangria and Spanish coffee during brunch.

Brown & Loe

Brown & Loe is one of my personal favorites. Located in the River Market, Brown & Loe has excellent food, service, atmosphere, and a perfect location. On a warm day the have a lovely patio where you can watch the hustle and bustle of the City Market. Otherwise, the inside restaurant is large, bright and stylish.

Open on Saturday and Sunday for brunch, they offer seasonal menu filled with fresh and upscale salads, sandwiches and soup. A local favorite is the Country Fried Steak ; a top sirloin served with roasted tomato slaw, mayo, red pepper jam, pickles, and Texas toast.
